Gemma Loveden estimates she has allocated approximately £120 to acquire chocolate eggs for her children in preparation for Easter Sunday. Her shopping spree commenced with a £75 expenditure at Aldi, supplemented by additional purchases from Home Bargains and Tesco. The mother-of-six shared a video on TikTok showcasing the impressive collection of eggs, which also includes Easter-themed pyjamas and supplementary treats arranged across her floor.

The TikTok video rapidly accumulated over 23,000 likes and attracted more than 1,700 comments, many of which were sharply critical. Detractors labelled the mother "shameful" and expressed concerns about the health implications of such a significant quantity of sugar. One commenter remarked, "As a parent you should be ashamed of yourself. Pure greed and it's not doing their health any good." Another queried the necessity, asking, "Why so many? Surely they'd be satisfied with one?"
In response, Gemma Loveden articulated that her children are in good health and naturally prefer fruit over chocolate. She emphasised that the Easter eggs constitute a "one-off treat" and will not be consumed in a single sitting. "I understand to some it's not normal, but this is our normal," she explained. "I would give my kids the world if I could so to me it's totally normal."

"I do social media and that's my job and I earn money and I should be able to spend it how I want to," she stated.
