Wegmans Recalls Two Mixed Nut Products Over Salmonella Contamination Fears
Mixed Nuts Recalled Over Salmonella Risk

Supermarket chain Wegmans has issued an urgent recall for two specific varieties of its own-brand Deluxe Unsalted Mixed Nuts, warning customers of a potential salmonella contamination.

Which Products Are Affected?

The recall concerns two distinct pack sizes. The first is a 34-ounce Family Pack with the UPC code 0-77890-42131-4, Lot code # DC 58041, and a Best By date of July 28, 2026.

The second is an 11-ounce bag identified by UPC 0-77890-42135-2, Lot Code DC 58171, and a Best By date of August 10, 2026.

What Should Customers Do?

Wegmans is advising anyone who has purchased these specific lots to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. The company has stated that this action should be taken even though no related illnesses have been reported to date.

Salmonella infection, or salmonellosis, can cause serious and sometimes severe symptoms. Health authorities note that the most common signs include:

  • Diarrhoea
  • Fever
  • Abdominal cramps and pain

The risks are particularly acute for young children, elderly individuals, and those with weakened immune systems.

A Pattern of Precautionary Recalls

This is not the first health-related recall from Wegmans in recent weeks. The move follows a separate health warning issued by the retailer last month concerning its Locatelli Grated Pecorino Romano Cheese, which was flagged for potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

These consecutive recalls highlight the stringent food safety protocols and precautionary measures employed by major retailers to protect consumers, often initiating action before any sickness is reported.
