Woman Shocked by £8 McDonald's Meal in Egypt

A woman has been left stunned by the price of a McDonald's meal in Egypt, claiming it cost just £8.09 and tasted better than in the UK. Suzanna, known as Suzanna Travel Solo on TikTok, ordered a feast in Hurghada including chicken nuggets, potato wedges, a Big Mac, a chicken sandwich, and a chicken wrap.

In her video, she said: 'All that was £8.09. The wedges with the sweet and sour sauce are lovely.' She added that the food 'tastes better' than McDonald's in her home country and is 'half the price'. For comparison, a standard McChicken Sandwich in the UK costs between £4.19 and £5.29.

One follower replied: 'I was so shocked at how much my McDonald's was in Hurghada.' Suzanna responded: 'Yep.'

The lower cost is attributed to Egypt's lower cost of living and devalued currency. The Egyptian Pound is significantly weaker than the British pound, making meals appear cheap to tourists, though it may not be considered affordable for locals.
