Tonight's National Lottery Lotto draw is the first of August, offering a jackpot of £5.9m on Friday, August 1, 2026. The main draw takes place at 8pm, with the Thunderball draw following at 8.15pm.
Prize tiers
To win the jackpot, players must match all six main numbers. Matching five main numbers plus the bonus ball pays £1,000,000, while matching five main numbers wins £1,750. Matching two or more numbers from a Lotto line also earns a cash prize.
Tickets and the new two-round format
Since last month, every Lotto draw has comprised two separate rounds, and a single ticket enters players into both automatically. In the first round, a machine holds 59 balls, from which six balls and a Bonus Ball are drawn. A second machine with another 59 balls is then used for the second round, again drawing six balls plus a Bonus Ball. In either round, matching two or more numbers on your Lotto line pays out.
Tickets cost £2. For the Thunderball draw, entry closes at 7.30pm, and the top prize is up to £500,000.
