The winning numbers for Wednesday July 29's National Lottery Lotto draw (jackpot £4.4m) and Thunderball draw (jackpot £500,000) have been announced. The Lotto numbers were drawn at 8pm, with the Thunderball numbers following shortly after.
Each line of numbers entered in the Lotto draw now participates in two rounds, giving players about a one in 4.9 chance of winning a prize in every draw.
Notable National Lottery Jackpots
The biggest ever Lotto winner was an anonymous player who banked £35m in April 2016. In January 2016, two ticketholders each won £33m. Earlier, in January 1996, a jackpot of £42,008,610 was split between three anonymous winners, each receiving £14,002,870. On New Year's Eve 2016, a single ticket won £26.4m. The UK National Lottery first launched on November 19, 1994.
How Lottery Revenue Is Allocated
Of every pound spent, 50% goes to the prize fund, 28% to good causes, 12% to the UK Government as duty, 5% to retailers, and 5% to the operator.
