Lidl Shoppers: Collect Points at Till Without App Using Your Phone Number
Lidl: Collect Points at Till Without App Using Your Phone Number

Lidl shoppers can still collect loyalty points at the till even if they cannot access the Lidl Plus app, by entering their registered mobile number instead, the supermarket has confirmed.

The feature serves as a backup for customers whose phone battery dies or who have a weak in-store signal, which can otherwise prevent them from scanning the app and missing out on points and deals.

How the Backup Feature Works

Lidl confirmed to the Liverpool Echo that using the Lidl Plus app is the only way for customers to unlock personalised rewards. However, if a customer cannot access the app at the till, they can provide their registered mobile number as backup - simply enter the number at the till instead of scanning the app.

Shoppers can collect points and use Lidl Plus offers, but personalised coupons only work if they are activated in the app first.

Steps to Use Lidl Plus

  • Shop as normal in Lidl.
  • At the till, scan the Lidl Plus app.
  • Collect points as you spend (£1 = 1 point) - they add up automatically.
  • Once points are earned, open the Lidl Plus app.
  • Go to the Rewards Marketplace.
  • Choose a reward or money-off coupon - more than 100 rewards or money-off coupons are available.
  • Swap points for the chosen coupon.
  • Activate the coupon in the app before using it in-store.

Digital Receipts Option

To cut down on paper and stop receipts from building up at home or in the car, shoppers can switch to digital receipts and view them in the app. They are also useful for returns, as a paper receipt is not needed.

To do this, open the Lidl Plus app, tap the Lidl Plus card, then select “Activate Digital Receipts Only.”
