John Lewis has urgently recalled a children's toy due to a choking hazard for babies and toddlers. The Wooden Roast Dinner Toy, which includes wooden kitchen utensils and small food items, has been pulled from shelves after failing safety regulations.
The Office for Product Safety & Standards warned that the Velcro fastenings on the toy can detach during vigorous play, creating small parts that young children may put in their mouths. The risk is particularly high for children under 36 months.
The toy, manufactured in China, comes with a small knife, tray, and wooden food items representing a classic roast dinner. Shoppers have been urged to stop using it immediately and keep it away from children.
A John Lewis spokesperson said: 'Customer safety is always our priority and we recalled this toy as a precaution in November. Only this specific line is impacted. We're very sorry for the inconvenience, and are issuing customers full refunds.'
