Home Bargains £1.69 gel rivals Lush's £24 Snow Fairy

Home Bargains is selling a 500ml bottle of Mystical Angel Fragranced Shower Gel for £1.69, a product shoppers have quickly compared to Lush's cult Snow Fairy range, which costs £24 for a similarly sized bottle (580g). Choosing the budget alternative could save more than £22.30 per bottle this festive period.

Sweet scent and savings

The pink formula boasts a "sweet bubblegum and candy floss scent" that closely resembles the beloved seasonal product from the cosmetics giant. In its online description, Home Bargains said: "Sweetie is a playful fragrance brand creating sweet, feel-good scents designed to brighten up your everyday routine. Fun, wearable and effortlessly uplifting, our fragranced bath and body products are made to bring a little extra joy to every moment."

The description adds: "Fragranced shower gel with a sweet bubblegum and candy floss scent, gently cleansing and leaving skin feeling fresh. Perfect for everyday use in a 500ml bottle." The deal is available both online and in branches nationwide.

Lush acknowledges dupes

Describing the returning scent on its website, Lush acknowledges that the fragrance has "spawned a thousand dupes and candycoated counterfeits". Last year, alternatives were spotted on the shelves at the likes of Primark, B&M and more.

The brand adds: "The scent of the century is back, and this year our iconic Snow Fairy shower gel has all of the magic, none of the palm. So for sparkle like there's snow tomorrow, lather up in the palm-free, candy-sweet suds that come but once a year - unless, like us, you stock up on the 1kg bottles to survive the Snow Fairy drought."

The budget retailer is also offering reduced items from the Elizabeth Arden collection. The Elizabeth Arden Millennium Day Renewal Emulsion typically retails at £47, but has been slashed in a web-exclusive promotion to £12.99 for a 75ml bottle - a saving of £34.

In its online description, Home Bargains says the cream is "ideal for everyday use" and claims it leaves skin "feeling nourished, revitalised and looking radiant with a smooth, supple finish". The promotion is exclusively available via the Home Bargains website, so shoppers cannot purchase it in physical stores.

Another offer provides a major discount on Visible Whitening CicaGlow Concentrate, reduced from £66 to £12.99. Home Bargains said: "Reveal a brighter, more radiant-looking complexion with Elizabeth Arden Visible Whitening CicaGlow Concentrate 30ml."

"This innovative bi-phase formula combines nourishing oils with gentle exfoliating ingredients to help improve skin's natural renewal process while targeting the appearance of dark spots and uneven skin tone. Enriched with Niacinamide, Vitamin C and Centella Asiatica (Cica), it helps soothe, hydrate and visibly brighten the skin, leaving it looking smoother, clearer and glowing with a healthy, youthful radiance."
