A recent comparison test between the Flash Dust Magnet and a standard polish spray has revealed a clear winner for dusting chores. The test, conducted on skirting boards, pitted the Flash Dust Magnet against Pledge Everyday Clean Multi-Surface Polish, a £1.69 product from B&M.
The Flash Dust Magnet Starter Kit, priced at £6 from Asda, comes with two refills and an extendable handle up to 90cm. According to the tester, two swipes across a skirting board were enough to lift all dust, without the need to bend down. The dust clung to the cloth, preventing it from flying into the air.
In contrast, the standard polish required three sprays and a dusting cloth, with dust spreading along the surface before being lifted. The tester noted that the polish left a pleasant smell, but the Flash Dust Magnet offered greater convenience, especially for reaching high areas like ceilings.
The main drawback of the Flash Dust Magnet is the lack of fragrance or shine. However, Flash produces other Dust Magnets with scents for those who prefer a fresh smell. Refills are available separately, with a nine-pack costing £5.48 at Asda.
Overall, the tester found the Flash Dust Magnet to be the superior product, despite its higher upfront cost, due to its ease of use and effective dust-trapping design.
