The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued an urgent recall for the Noesis Schokolade Love of Dubai chocolate bar due to undeclared peanuts, posing a serious risk to those with peanut allergies. The product, inspired by a viral Dubai chocolate trend, contains peanuts not listed in its ingredients.
The FSA advises consumers not to purchase or consume the bar, especially if they have a peanut allergy. Those who have bought it should dispose of the product and contact local Trading Standards in Great Britain or Environmental Health Officers in Northern Ireland to report where it was purchased.
The agency has been unable to reach the manufacturer, Black Sea Trading Ltd, and is requesting distributors remove the product from shelves. This recall follows a broader FSA warning about imported Dubai-style chocolate bars that may lack proper allergen labeling or contain ingredients banned in the UK.
Professor Robin May, FSA chief scientific adviser, stated that while most UK food is safe, some imported Dubai-style chocolates do not meet standards and could be a risk, particularly for allergy sufferers. He recommends buying from trusted retailers where products are made for UK consumers.
