Yan Diomande has indicated he would be open to a Premier League move this summer after Liverpool saw an £86 million bid rejected by RB Leipzig. The 19-year-old winger, currently representing Ivory Coast at the World Cup, stated that his agents are handling the details while he concentrates on the tournament.
Diomande's Comments on Premier League Move
Speaking to beIN Sports, Diomande said: "Would I be open to the Premier League? I don't know. I am an RB Leipzig player, but why not? My agents will sort that out. As for me I am more focused on the World Cup, that's the most important thing." He added that the World Cup only happens every four years, so he is making the most of it and will consider his future afterwards.
Liverpool's Bid Rejected
Liverpool recently submitted a bid worth approximately £86 million for Diomande, but it was immediately rejected. The Bundesliga club is reportedly holding out for closer to £112 million and is reluctant to sell a player they are keen to tie down to a new contract.
Ivory Coast Manager Dismisses Speculation
Ivory Coast manager Emerse Fae downplayed the transfer talk, joking that during preparation in France, journalists told him Diomande was about to sign with Paris Saint-Germain, and in the United States, they say he is about to join Liverpool. Fae emphasized that Diomande will focus on the World Cup before considering the rest of his career.
World Cup Performance
Ivory Coast lost 2-1 to Germany on Saturday in Toronto, with Denis Undav scoring twice after Franck Kessie's opener. Diomande was substituted in the second half for former Arsenal winger Nicolas Pepe. Ivory Coast will conclude their group stage campaign against Curacao on Thursday.
