Barclays clarifies new card delivery times after query

Barclays has clarified the typical delivery timeframe for new credit cards after a customer took to social media to ask for help. The customer said they ordered a new Barclaycard on a Sunday and had not received it nearly a week later.

The bank responded, stating: "New Barclaycards typically arrive with 7-9 working days." It added: "As you're within that timescale that new card could still arrive over the next few days, but if this doesn't arrive we'll be able to support you further."

To request a new card through the Barclays app, users should go to the home page, open 'Your Cards', select the card to replace, choose the option for reporting lost, stolen or damaged, and follow the instructions.

Alternatively, customers can log into Barclaycard online servicing, choose 'Account services' from the menu tab, and select 'Order a replacement card'.

Barclays £200 switch offer

Barclays is also offering a £200 cash payment to new current account customers who switch using the Current Account Switch Service. The offer requires opening a sole account, arranging the switch in the Barclays app, including at least two direct debits, and paying in at least £2,000 within 30 days of account opening. The offer is available until August 27.
