Bank of Scotland Student Account: Up to £220 in Free Rewards

New Student Account Deal Offers £100 Cash and Deliveroo Vouchers

Students heading to university this autumn could receive up to £220 in free rewards under a new current account deal from Bank of Scotland. The bank is offering eligible customers £100 in cash alongside the chance to earn up to £120 in Deliveroo vouchers after opening or switching to a Student Current Account.

To qualify for the £100 payment, customers must open or change an existing Bank of Scotland account to a Student Current Account between July 30 and October 30, 2026. They must also pay at least £500 into the account by October 30. The £100 reward will then be paid directly into the account before November 30.

Earning Deliveroo Vouchers Through Monthly Transactions

Customers who qualify for the cash payment can also earn a £20 Deliveroo voucher each month for six months. To receive a voucher, they must make at least 20 qualifying debit transactions during each calendar month between November 2026 and April 2027. This means eligible customers could receive up to £120 in Deliveroo vouchers in total, although they can qualify during some months and not others. The vouchers will be sent by email during the month after the qualifying transactions are completed and must be used within 30 days.

Transactions that will not count include transfers between accounts held in the customer’s name with Bank of Scotland, Lloyds Bank or Halifax, gambling payments, cryptocurrency purchases and some financial services transactions.

Additional Benefits: Interest-Free Overdraft and Fee-Free Foreign Spending

The Student Current Account also offers an interest-free arranged overdraft of up to £1,500 during years one to three of study, rising to up to £2,000 during years four to six. The overdraft is available to eligible customers aged 18 or over and remains subject to an application and affordability assessment. Customers can also use their Bank of Scotland debit card abroad without paying foreign exchange fees, although cash machine providers or retailers may apply their own charges.

Eligibility and Application Details

Students can apply for the account from age 17 if they are enrolled on an eligible full-time course, have lived in the UK for at least three years and have a four-digit UCAS code confirming their place. However, customers will not qualify for the £100 reward if they currently have, or have held since August 1, 2021, a Student Account or Graduate Account with Bank of Scotland, Lloyds Bank or Halifax. The new account must remain open for the £100 payment to be made and only one cash reward is available per customer.

Joanna Clarke, Head of Personal Current Accounts at Bank of Scotland, said: “We’ve created this new range of benefits and offers to help our customers’ student budgets go a bit further – whether that’s a cash boost to help kick off their academic year, or Deliveroo vouchers to help get through late night studies. Bank of Scotland Student Account customers can also access offers through the app and online, helping them to save on the things they already spend on.”
