The Antler trunk, inspired by the brand's 1950s legacy (Antler was founded in 1914), boasts reinforced aluminium corners—a significant advantage for frequent travellers whose luggage endures rough handling. The rounded, telescopic handles are engineered for enhanced comfort when lifting or pulling the case. Available in three colours—sandstone, navy, or forest green—I selected the green to complement my brown carry-on bag.
Design and Maneuverability
I appreciated the boxier, tall silhouette of the large trunk compared to standard large suitcases, as it felt more streamlined and allowed it to glide upright rather than drag. Inside, two compression straps sit over an opaque, envelope-like pocket, effectively flattening ten days' worth of clothing on one side. On the opposite side, a zippable compartment is topped by a sheer pocket, where I stored my growing collection of K-beauty products. Even after extensive shopping, I hadn't filled the case (and I don't pack lightly). At 21kg, it was manageable to lift in the absence of lifts or stairs. With my large hand luggage bag on top, the case was easy to manoeuvre between cabs and trains.
Security and Features
The bag eschews a zip in favour of a latch lock system—a feature I hadn't used before but found straightforward to set up. It made the case feel extra secure once closed and added to its sleek appearance. An Antler-branded laundry bag included inside proved handy for compressing my washing. My only complaint is that the case would be slightly more functional with a divider in the middle of the sheer zip pocket to prevent items from shifting during transit. Nonetheless, for its durability, style, and practicality, the trunk has cemented Antler as my forever favourite luggage brand.
