Amazon has recalled a children's swim vest over fears it could pose a 'serious risk of drowning'. The Petiyark Neoprene Swim Vest was found to have conflicting minimum or maximum sizing limits, making it unsafe as a buoyancy aid.
The product also lacks bright, conspicuous colours, making it difficult to spot in water. Additionally, it was not supplied with the required documentation for correct use, failing to meet the requirements of Regulation (EU) 2016/425 on Personal Protective Equipment.
The Office for Product Safety and Standards advises owners to stop using the swim vest immediately and contact the distributor for a refund. Amazon has removed the product from sale.
This recall follows other recent product alerts, including One Stop recalling Mature Cheddar & Red Onion crisps due to undeclared milk, and Waitrose recalling an Indian Takeaway meal due to mispacked spring rolls containing undeclared allergens.
