Toddler, 2, Survives Fall from NYC Building

A 2-year-old boy plunged from a multi-storey building in New York on Thursday afternoon, with police rushing to the scene. The toddler fell from the building in Forest Hills, Queens, and was found on the ground with minor injuries.

Police respond to 911 call

Police responded to a 911 call to the building at 102-10 Queens Boulevard just before 2.30pm and found the unidentified boy on the ground with minor injuries. His injuries appear to be minor, and he is awaiting further X-rays.

A police source told The New York Post that no criminality is suspected. NYPD are now carrying out an investigation.

No window guards at apartment

WABC Eyewitness News reported that there were no window guards at the apartment, with the police carrying out investigations. Images taken by an onlooker at the scene show blood stains on the floor from when the toddler fell.

Similar incident two days earlier

The incident comes just two days after an 8-month-old girl survived a fall from a 15-storey building in the Bronx, that tragically killed her mum. The pair were allegedly pushed off a balcony by the mum's boyfriend. Nathaly Ramirez, 23, died in the incident. The baby girl, Angel Novalty Carrasco-Ramirez, is reportedly in critical condition at Jacobi Hospital. Ramirez’s boyfriend, Angel Carrasco, 31, is facing murder and attempted murder charges.
