A former Estée Lauder employee has praised Aldi's £6.99 Lacura Golden Solstice perfume, saying it is remarkably similar to the £78 Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess.
The shopper, who worked at Estée Lauder for a while, said the budget version is so close to the original that it is hard to tell which is which. She noted that you can buy 11 bottles of the Aldi scent for the price of one Estée Lauder perfume.
Similar scent, lower price
After spraying both, she said the Lacura version may even have the edge, as the dry-down is arguably more uplifting. While she still adores Estée Lauder perfumes and understands the appeal of the original's luxe packaging, she believes the Aldi version is a great alternative for those more interested in the scent itself.
TikTok user @budgetbeautyemi also tried the Golden Solstice perfume for the first time, and her first impression was: "That smells the same." After smelling them side by side, she said: "This is very very similar, if not identical to Estée Lauder's Bronze Goddess."
Longevity concerns
Some commenters complained about the perfume's longevity, saying it "only lasts 30 minutes." However, the former Estée Lauder employee said she did not have that issue, as she could still smell it hours after spraying it on herself and her clothes.
For those struggling with longevity, a tip is to dab a bit of Vaseline on their wrists to help.
Aldi is also offering another fragrance alternative: Lacura Elara Eau de Parfum for £6.99, which is similar to Kylie Jenner's Cosmic perfume.
