I Tested 30+ Vacuums: This Affordable Cordless Brand Impressed Me Most
Affordable Cordless Vacuum Brand Impresses After 30+ Tests

Vacuuming ranks among those household chores that most of us would happily skip. It is monotonous and time-consuming, yet essential for keeping your home clean. That is precisely why investing in a quality vacuum is so important, whether you opt for a lighter model, a cordless version, or a compact model for storage.

Over the years, I have tested numerous vacuum cleaners, with some impressing me with value and others excelling in performance. However, there is one I consistently return to, and which remains my absolute favourite: the Levoit LVAC-300.

Why the Levoit LVAC-300 Stands Out

The Levoit LVAC-300 is the kind of vacuum that makes cleaning feel effortless. It is lightweight, incredibly straightforward to operate, and feels far more high-end in person than its price tag would suggest.

From the instant I lifted it, I could tell it was easy to manoeuvre. It glides seamlessly across hard floors, carpets, and rugs and offers three suction modes to suit your preferred suction strength.

Its cordless design meant I was not constantly hunting for plug sockets or wrestling with trailing cables, making it ideal for a quick daily clean.

Impressive Suction and Features

One of its most impressive features is the suction power across all floor types. It captures dust, crumbs, and pet hair remarkably well, while the LED headlights illuminate dirt you would typically overlook. It also boasts a robust anti-tangle brush design, which minimises hair wrapping around the roller, a major advantage if you have got pets or long hair. I believed my Dyson was my go-to vacuum, and while I do adore it, the price tag of this Levoit vacuum pushes it into first place.

Battery Performance and Ease of Use

Battery performance is another notable strength. I can easily clean my whole house on Eco mode without any time pressure, with plenty of power remaining. I also appreciate that when charging is needed, you simply remove the battery, rather than having to allocate space for the complete vacuum to charge, as with the Dyson.

Emptying the bin is remarkably straightforward: all the debris and hair emerge in one go, making it simple and hygienic.

Minor Drawbacks to Consider

That said, as with all vacuums, there are a few drawbacks I have observed. It is not the most powerful choice for exceptionally thick carpets or rugs, and can struggle somewhat with deeply embedded pet hair compared to others I have tested. Additionally, changing the cleaning heads can feel rather stiff and fiddly, which slightly disrupts the cleaning rhythm when you switch between attachments.

Online reviews of the vacuum echoed similar sentiments. One stated: "Weak performance on carpets and limited suction on thicker rugs." Another commented: "Struggles with thick rugs and fine dirt on carpets."

Nevertheless, users have repeatedly commended its lightweight construction, powerful hard-floor suction, and simplicity of use. One noted: "Ideal for frequent, short cleaning rounds. It makes daily cleaning easy." Another remarked: "It is comfortable to carry from room to room and up and down stairs."

Price and Availability

The Levoit LVAC-300 retails for £249.99 on the Levoit UK website, inclusive of a two-year warranty and free shipping. It is also available on Amazon, where it is currently reduced by 20% at the time of writing, bringing the price down to £199.49.

How It Compares to Other Brands

Having tested numerous vacuums over the years, and while Levoit remains my top pick, other brands certainly have plenty going for them.

Dyson

Dyson's cordless range, including the V15, delivers powerful suction on both hard floors and carpets, along with a sophisticated filtration system that captures fine dust and allergens. The laser dust detection feature is a particular highlight, revealing hidden dirt and hair lurking throughout your home. That said, Dyson sits firmly in the premium bracket, with the V15 model priced at £649.99, although it is currently on offer at £529.99 at the time of writing.

Shark

Shark is another popular choice in British households, occupying the mid- to premium-price range. Having relied on my Shark cordless vacuum for several years, I was a big fan of its foldable design for convenient storage and its flexible body for getting under furniture. At £279.99, it is considerably more affordable than Dyson, and there is a wide selection of cordless models to suit varying requirements.

VAX

For those on a tighter budget, VAX offers no-frills designs at more accessible price points. My own experience with a VAX vacuum cleaner was genuinely positive. It is widely stocked across UK retailers, and its straightforward design makes hoovering a breeze. With prices starting at £119.99, there is plenty of choice.
