16p-a-day spusu SIM freezes mobile bills until 2027

European network spusu has announced its prices are frozen for the third consecutive year, offering 30-day SIM plans from £4.90 per month. This works out at roughly 16p per day and includes 5GB of data plus unlimited UK minutes and texts, with no bill increases expected until at least 2027.

Cheaper alternative to major networks

Big-name brands like Sky Mobile, EE and Vodafone typically implement a price rise for existing customers every April as inflation goes up. spusu is combating this practice by keeping its flexible monthly SIM prices unchanged.

The cheapest option costs £4.90 per month for 5GB plus unlimited UK minutes and texts, and also includes 3GB and 500 minutes to use when travelling in the EU. spusu is backed by EE’s network, allowing customers to access 4G and 5G coverage that’s said to serve ‘99% of the UK population’ for a lower price.

Flexible plans and special deals

There are flexible plans for heavier users too, including a 20GB SIM for £7.90 and an 80GB SIM for £12.90. These ‘special deals’ aren’t around for long though and are due to end on October 29.

All spusu SIMs come on flexible 30-day rolling contracts, so customers are not required to sign up to long 12, 24 or 36-month agreements. This rivals the latest deals at Sky Mobile, where the 1GB SIM has been reduced from £5 to £1 on a 12-month contract. Sky also offers roaming in around 120 locations, but most customers will have to pay an extra £2 per day for this perk.

Customer feedback and comparisons

Giffgaff offers a range of flexible 30-day SIMs from 2GB for £6 to unlimited for £35. However, those willing to commit to an 18-month contract can get a huge data boost with 40GB for £8 or 80GB for £10. As for spusu, we’ve checked what customers have been saying on Trustpilot, where some have praised the lower prices and excellent coverage compared to rival networks.

One said: “I switched to spusu and it’s been faultless. It runs on the best EE 5G network so the coverage has been excellent wherever I’ve been. Customer service [is] genuinely exceptional, friendly, quick, and completely pain-free.”

Another said: “Just ported over my number to join spusu, the transfer was very quick and smooth. Much better than my previous supplier. I did ring support for a quick question – the phone was answered immediately and the staff was very knowledgeable and helpful and UK based.”

Despite spusu’s ‘reliable’ UK service, this customer highlighted a potential downside, saying: “Reliable, good service nationwide, but HD voice does not work from the UK to the EU. It is something to improve.”

Nevertheless, this happy customer said: “Spusu is by far the best mobile company I’ve been with. The phone is answered straight away, no automated line or 15 options, just a voice on the end. All the advisors have been helpful, efficient and knowledgeable, and it’s over five times cheaper for me than Vodafone was.”

While another said: “Excellent network coverage compared with Sky. Customer service is excellent. Price is also very good.”
