I Keep Mirrors and Windows Streak-Free with £1 Astonish Cleaner from The Range
£1 Astonish Cleaner for Streak-Free Mirrors and Windows

Keeping windows and mirrors clean can be a challenging task, as they quickly show dirt and dust. Finding effective products that don't leave streaks or a harsh smell can also be difficult.

Thankfully, I have discovered a product that cleans mirrors and windows without leaving streaks. It promises a 'streak-free shine' while delivering a fresh scent.

Astonish Window and Glass Cleaner

Astonish's Window and Glass Cleaner in Eucalyptus and Lemon comes in a 750ml bottle and costs just £1 from The Range and Wilko.

The description reads: 'Our Window & Glass Cleaner effortlessly cuts through grease, fingerprints, and everyday grime—leaving your surfaces streak-free and crystal clear.'

'Infused with a refreshing eucalyptus and lemon fragrance, it’s made with plant-based ingredients and dries quickly without residue. Perfect for windows, mirrors, and glass tables, this versatile spray brings brilliance back to every pane and panel.'

How to Use

The instructions are simple: spray onto the surface and wipe with a dry paper towel or lint-free cloth. I use the product on my bathroom mirror and am impressed with the results.

I've found my bottle lasts for months because I only need a couple of sprays on the mirror. Upon spraying, a fresh lemony scent appears. The smell is not as strong as that of other, more chemical-smelling products on the market. Each spray delivers plenty of product, so you don't need to use much.

Make sure you have a dry paper towel or lint-free cloth to hand, as it can drip down the mirror quickly. I wipe horizontally, and as the product lifts, the mirror becomes cleaner and shinier. Dirt and any streaks disappear when the cloth is wiped.

Precautions

The product must not be used on acid-sensitive surfaces such as marble and limestone. Astonish added: 'Do not use on varnished, polished or unsealed wood. Wipe up spills immediately. Condensation may form on cold glass, which will clear.'

For me, the Astonish Window and Glass Cleaner is effective, easy to use, and good value for money, so it's constantly in my cleaning cupboard.

Alternatives

Astonish isn't the only brand that offers window and mirror cleaners. The Pink Stuff has a window and glass cleaner in an 850ml bottle for £1.09 at The Range. Meanwhile, Elbow Grease has Glass Cleaner with Vinegar in a 500ml bottle for £1 from B&M Bargains.
