NS&I Urges 2.8 Million Premium Bonds Holders to Check

National Savings and Investments (NS&I) has announced that a staggering £122 million in Premium Bond prizes remains unclaimed, affecting approximately 2.8 million holders. As of June 2026, there are 2,796,246 unclaimed prizes worth £121,903,050. In Leeds alone, 17,917 unclaimed prizes total £756,600, while a £25,000 prize from June 2023 remains unclaimed in Cheshire & West Chester.

How to Check for Unclaimed Prizes

NS&I urges customers who suspect they may have an unclaimed prize to enter their holder's number into the NS&I prize checker tool. The state-owned savings bank emphasized that unclaimed prizes often result when customers change their address or bank details without notifying NS&I. To avoid missing out, NS&I recommends having prizes paid directly into the holder's bank account or automatically reinvested into Premium Bonds, provided the total does not exceed the £50,000 holding limit.
