FX confirmed on July 9, 2026, that American Horror Story will return for its 13th season on Thursday, September 24, in the US. A UK premiere date has not yet been announced, but based on previous seasons, the show is expected to arrive on Disney Plus in September or early October.
Ariana Grande Pulls Out of Season 13
Despite being announced alongside series regulars such as Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett, Jessica Lange, Emma Roberts, and Billie Lourd in October 2025, Ariana Grande will no longer appear in season 13. The singer and Wicked star's exit is due to scheduling conflicts caused by timing alterations to the horror series' production schedule, which now clashes with her Eternal Sunshine tour.
The 33-year-old had not recorded any footage for the new season. Fans observed her absence when the cast was seen filming outdoor sequences. Grande recently rearranged her Eternal Sunshine tour July performance dates, moving shows in Brooklyn and Boston by a couple of days.
Filming Continues Without Grande
Stars confirmed to appear include Gabourey Sidibe, Frances Conroy, Sarah Paulson, Emma Roberts, Leslie Grossman, and Avantika Vandanapu, who were seen on set in New York. Six Feet Under's Frances Conroy and model Alex Consani were also spotted filming. The storyline for season 13 remains under wraps, with details closely guarded.
Ariana Grande will proceed with her tour, which includes upcoming shows in Canada, New York, and London. American Horror Story season 13 debuts Thursday, September 24, on FX in the US.
