Mum hid cocaine in knickers, made £20k selling drugs

A 45-year-old mother who concealed class A drugs in her knickers and earned substantial income from selling cocaine to addicts has been sentenced to three years in prison. Lacey Clements, from Magdalen Way in Gorleston, accumulated nearly £20,000 through street-level drug dealing in the seaside town of Great Yarmouth.

Arrest and Discovery

Clements was apprehended after police responded to a call from residents of a Yarmouth property, where she and a male accomplice had arrived to enforce a £300 drug debt owed to her. Prosecutor Jude Durr told Norwich Crown Court that Clements was found with a significant quantity of cash, burner phones, and drugs. During a search at the police station, officers discovered drugs concealed in her underwear, as well as additional drugs in her car.

Further investigations revealed that £19,858, identified as proceeds from drug dealing, had been deposited into a family member's bank account.

Home Conditions and Evidence

When police searched Clements' home, they found it in a 'deplorable state' with evidence of drug use, according to Mr Durr. Mobile phones seized from the property contained evidence of 'bulk messaging' and discussions about 're-loading'. Analysis of the phones also showed 'multiple clients' to whom she regularly supplied class A drugs.

Court Proceedings

Clements appeared in court on Tuesday, June 23, having previously admitted to supplying class A drugs between November 11, 2024, and September 30, 2025. She also pleaded guilty to possession of criminal property, specifically £19,858, between January 2024 and July 2025.

Judge Andrew Shaw remarked: 'This is by no means low level drug-dealing. It's long-term drug dealing from which you were making significant amounts of money.' He added that the offences were 'simply too serious' to impose a suspended sentence and jailed Clements for three years.

Mitigation and Background

Nicholas Bleaney, mitigating, said that although Clements presents as an organised mother, she has had 'difficulties with drugs' stemming from a 'ruined childhood'. He noted that pressure had been applied to her from above and acknowledged that the sums of money involved were 'not inconsiderable'. Mr Bleaney also stated that the fact Clements has a 16-year-old daughter was taken into consideration before sentencing.
