Tesco shoppers urged to look for 'secret' 6-digit Clubcard code
Tesco shoppers urged to look for 'secret' 6-digit Clubcard code

Money-saving expert Jordon Cox, known as the Coupon King, has shared how a hidden six-digit Clubcard expiry code could help Tesco shoppers save money on deals.

With Christmas approaching, many households are cutting back and planning ahead financially. High inflation and rising living costs have led to widespread caution, with festive money worries causing many to rein in spending well before the season begins.

The six-digit code explained

In a recent Instagram reel shared with his 383,000 followers, Cox appears in a Tesco store and says: "There's a code in Tesco that'll save you money." He points to a sign advertising a Clubcard price and highlights the six-digit code displayed on it.

He explains: "The last two digits are the day, the middle two are the month, and the first two are the year when the deal expires. So you now know when to stock up before the price goes up."

Viewer reactions

The hack proved popular, gaining more than 5,000 likes. One user commented: "Good tip," while another said: "Well done for breaking that code."

However, not everyone was convinced. One sceptic questioned: "How does this save you money? That's the price until the end date. You're just highlighting the end date. It's not a hack or cheat. Really grabbing at straws here." Another viewer remarked: "Everyone knows that already."

In the comments, Cox added: "Most Tesco deals expire on a Tuesday too by the way... stock up if you're a weekend shopper!"

The advice follows Cox's recent tip that shoppers should avoid Aldi or Lidl on certain days, warning they are 'missing out on all the best bargains'.
