A woman who lost her mother last year made a devastating confession on BBC Breakfast, saying: "All my mum's memories, because she passed away last year, they've all gone."
The UK continues to experience warm weather, with the fifth heatwave of the year so far coming to an end. Drought and heatwave conditions continue to grip the country, resulting in a number of wildfires over the last few months in various parts of the UK.
Stourbridge fires tear through 40 acres
Just one area that has been devastated by fires is Stourbridge, with a BBC Breakfast news segment speaking to those directly involved after multiple fires "tore through 40 acres of land", destroying around 19 homes.
With arson not ruled out, the BBC confirmed at its peak 120 firefighters were sent to control the flames, with fires devastating elsewhere across the UK. Another Stourbridge resident admitted they were "scared to death" as they described the harrowing moment the fires spread.
Emergency alert warns of 'very high risk'
It comes after an emergency alert was sent to phones across England and Wales last night warning of a "very high risk of wildfires nationally". Warning against any activity that could start a fire, the alert added: "Even a small flame can rapidly develop into a major wildfire placing lives, homes, businesses and emergency responders at risk."
Reporter Amy Cole admitted it was a "catastrophe on an epic scale" as she reported live from the scene, showing the continued devastation in the area. During the segment, Prime Minister Andy Burnham was seen meeting with emergency services as he also urged residents to take the alert seriously.

Viewers were devastated by those who have been impacted by fires as one person said on X: "Put those people in hotels free of charge", adding in another post: "[broken heart emoji] for those that's lost everything." Another commented: "That fire alert on my mobile made me jump out of my skin.. I thought WW3 had started.." While a third wrote: "Mother nature is not messing around. She is and will always be the boss. We need to show more respect for the planet."
