A 4.3-magnitude earthquake struck near Pisa, Italy, on Tuesday, causing panic in the city popular with British tourists. The tremor was recorded at 10.15am local time (9.15am BST) in the Tuscany region, central Italy.

Epicentre near San Piero a Grado

The epicentre was in San Piero a Grado, about 7km from Pisa, home to the iconic Leaning Tower. The quake occurred at a depth of 8km and was felt across northern Tuscany, including Lucca and Massa Carrara.

This comes just days after a 4.7-magnitude earthquake hit Naples and surrounding towns, shaking the region.
