Long queues have built up in both directions of the M62 following a fire near Saddleworth. Two lanes of traffic are closed on the eastbound carriageway between junctions 22 for Saddleworth and 23 near Huddersfield this morning (August 14).
Delays and Congestion
Drivers are facing delays of around 40 minutes. A post from National Highways Yorkshire on X said: "Lanes 2 and 3 (of 3) are closed on the #M62 eastbound between J22 #A672 and the J23 near #Huddersfield due to a vehicle fire."
"Delays of 40 minutes and approx. 4 miles of congestion on approach to the incident. Please allow extra time if you're travelling in the area."
