South Wales Fire and Rescue Service is attending a fire on the Welsh Government Woodland Estate in Llanwonno, Rhondda Cynon Taf. Smoke and flames were reported at about 4pm on Saturday afternoon.
South Wales Police closed the road between Llanwonno Road and the mountain at 4.30pm. Officers from Natural Resources Wales are supporting the fire service and have advised residents nearby to keep their windows and doors closed.

A Natural Resources Wales spokesperson said: "Our officers are currently supporting colleagues from South Wales Fire and Rescue Service as they tackle a fire currently burning on Welsh Government Woodland Estate in the Llanwonno area of Rhondda Cynon Taf. We are on site providing advice and support and will continue to support the fire service as required to help extinguish this fire. We urge people to please follow safety advice and keep your windows and doors closed if affected by smoke."
MP urges public to stay away
The Welsh Labour MP for Rhondda and Ogmore has urged people to stay away from Llanwonno mountain road while firefighters tackle the blaze. Writing to his constituents on Facebook, he said: "Please stay away from Llanwonno mountain road while the fire service try to tackle the blaze. Thank you to every firefighter and emergency service worker involved, we're incredibly lucky to have such dedicated crews who are always ready to answer the call."
Emergency services have been at Llanwonno mountain since Saturday afternoon.
