Jet2 has revealed which flights could offer the best views of tonight's solar eclipse, including one from Zante to Liverpool. The UK will experience a partial solar eclipse, while parts of Europe will see a total one, when the Moon completely blocks the Sun and darkens the sky.
Flights with potential eclipse views
The operator named 10 flights that could provide "staggering eclipse views" based on scheduled times. A Jet2 flight from Zante to Liverpool (LS3286), departing at 9pm local time (6pm UTC), is featured. Jet2 said customers returning from Greece "may get a glimpse of the eclipse as the route approaches western Europe," adding that views will depend on weather, flight schedules, seat position, and final routing.
Other flights include Faro to Manchester and Palma de Mallorca to Leeds Bradford. The full list features departures from Ibiza, Tenerife South, Agadir, Alicante, Málaga, and Palma de Mallorca, with times ranging from 6pm to 7pm UTC.
What to expect in the UK
The eclipse will be visible in the UK around 7pm, peaking between 7.02pm and 7.15pm depending on location. In Liverpool, the Moon first covers the Sun's disc at 6.13pm, with maximum eclipse at 7.10pm and the event ending at 8.03pm. It will be the most visible partial eclipse over England since 1999.

Rare celestial event
Parts of Spain, northern Portugal, and Iceland will see the first total solar eclipse visible over mainland Europe in 27 years. The next total solar eclipse visible from the UK will not occur until September 23, 2090.
