A huge fire has broken out at a large hotel next to Wembley Stadium in London, with thick black smoke seen billowing into the sky.

Fire crews respond

Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters are responding to a fire at a hotel on Empire Way, Wembley. The Brigade received the first of 29 calls reporting the fire at 12.34pm. Control officers have mobilised crews from Park Royal, Willesden, Northolt and surrounding fire stations to the scene.

Cause unknown

The cause of the fire is not yet known. It is believed the fire has taken hold at the Holiday Inn, which is currently temporarily closed according to its website.
