The luxury cruise ship Valiant Lady from Virgin Voyages sailed into Liverpool's waterfront this morning as part of a 16-day UK and Iceland tour. The massive vessel, weighing around 110,000 tonnes and measuring 278 metres in length, docked in the city today, August 9.
Journey so far and next stops
The ship departed from Portsmouth on August 5 and has already visited Dublin, Ireland, and Greenock-Glasgow in Clydeport, Scotland. It will remain moored in Liverpool today before setting sail for Belfast, Northern Ireland, at 7pm.
From Belfast, the cruise will head to Iceland, with stops in Siglufjordur, Isafjordur in Westfjords, and the capital Reykjavik. The return journey begins on August 18, with a stop in Edinburgh before arriving back in Portsmouth on August 20.
Ship features and capacity
The 17-deck Valiant Lady is adults-only and can accommodate over 2,700 passengers and more than 1,100 crew. It features a rooftop bar, private karaoke booths, an arcade, casino, vinyl record store, spa, outdoor yoga studio, jogging track, and multiple restaurants. The ship has 1,330 cabins, 78 RockStar Quarters, and two massive suites with private hot tubs and turntables.
Valiant Lady is the second Lady ship in Virgin Voyages' boutique luxury fleet, sister to Scarlet Lady. It set sail for the first time in March 2022 and has since visited destinations including Barcelona, Cannes, Ibiza, Tuscany, Málaga, Madeira, Miami, and Florida. Its home ports are in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Miami, USA.
