Kirsty Slater, 38, has told a jury that allegations she kissed a teenage boy before having sex with him are '100 per cent false'. She is on trial at Preston Crown Court charged with three counts of sexual activity with the boy.
Police interview shown to jury
On Thursday (October 1), jurors watched a video of a police interview with the alleged victim. In the video, the boy said he found himself alone with Mrs Slater and asked her to explain how to kiss.
The boy claimed Mrs Slater kissed him twice before telling him he could touch her breast. The court heard the pair then had sex before Mrs Slater told him to keep what happened a secret.
Jurors were told the incident left the boy feeling 'a little bit guilty'. He later told a counsellor about what he claimed happened, the court heard.
Defence evidence
Giving evidence on Friday (October 2), Mrs Slater, from Oswaldtwistle, said that at the time of the alleged incident she had a Google hub device pointing at the sofa where the boy claimed they had sex. The device had a screen showing a feed of the living room, she said. Her husband - who had gone upstairs to bed - could access the device from his phone, jurors heard.
Mrs Slater told the jury her living room window did not have curtains, so passers-by could see in. Jurors previously heard the boy claimed someone came downstairs while they were having sex before they quickly got dressed. Mrs Slater said that would not have been possible as it would have only taken 'two or three seconds' for someone to reach the room from upstairs.
Kristian Cavanagh, defending, showed the jury a photo of the dress Mrs Slater was wearing that night. The boy said she pulled the dress down at the front to expose her breasts. Mrs Slater said the design of the dress - and her figure at the time - would have made that impossible.
Prosecution cross-examination
Mr Cavanagh said: "It was suggested you said something along the lines of 'it's our secret'." Mrs Slater replied: "That's not true. I would never use those words."
"Is he telling the truth?", Mr Cavanagh asked. "No", Mrs Slater replied. "He is 100 per cent lying."
Francis McEntee, prosecuting, quizzed Mrs Slater on her account. He said: "I'm going to suggest that over just a couple of minutes you allowed yourself to get carried away sexually with this young man and had full sexual intercourse with him."
"That's not true", Mrs Slater replied.
Mrs Slater, of Millbrook Close, Oswaldtwistle, denies three counts of sexual activity with a person aged 13 to 15. The trial continues.
