The Red Arrows are set to fly above Liverpool ahead of the Southport Air Show, which returns to the seafront on Saturday, August 29, and Sunday, August 30. The weekend features a variety of attractions for all age groups, including flight simulators and the chance to examine static aircraft and military vehicles.
Revised arrival and departure times
In between the Southport Air Show, the Red Arrows will be stopping at Liverpool John Lennon Airport from Saturday, August 29, to the morning of Sunday, August 30. The timings have now been confirmed to change due to the weather forecast, with them now expected to arrive here around 7pm today (Friday, August 28) and leave at 5pm on Sunday, August 30.
Route from the South West
According to their website, they will be travelling from the Sidmouth Regatta and Air Show, so will make their way to Liverpool from the South West of England. According to the Military Air Show website, they will reach the Huyton and Roby area at around 7.22pm. They will reach Liverpool at around 7.23pm. Please note that arrival times are subject to change.
Airport statement
An airport spokesperson told the ECHO: “The Southport Air Show is a great annual event and to have this in our City Region means that we often have some of the aircraft participating spend some time here at the airport during the two day event, and we are delighted to host the world famous Red Arrows once again between their displays.”
