Manchester Airport is gearing up for its busiest summer on record, with over 5.7 million passengers expected to pass through during the school holidays from July 17 to September 1. That's more than 120,000 travellers per day.
Security reminders for travellers
To keep security queues moving, passengers are reminded to follow hand luggage rules. Last month, the airport confiscated nearly 100 items in a single morning, including yoghurt pots, a leg massager, and a gun-shaped whiskey decanter. Liquids are limited to 100ml, and any item that could be used as a weapon is banned.
Parents should also check children's squishy toys, which may contain liquids without measurement labels and could be confiscated, causing delays.
