Manchester Airport is experiencing its busiest summer on record, with more than 5.7 million passengers expected to travel through between July 17 and September 1. As of 10:55am on Friday, August 7, four flights are delayed and three have been cancelled, according to FlightRadar24.
Delayed flights
The following departures are running at least 30 minutes behind schedule:
- Loganair flight LM24 to Aberdeen, scheduled 11:50am, now expected at 1:50pm.
- Ryanair flight FR2252 to Lisbon, scheduled 12:05pm, now expected at 2:40pm.
- Virgin Atlantic flight VS73 to Orlando, scheduled 12:10pm, now expected at 12:50pm.
- British Airways flight BA1363 to London, scheduled 12:15pm, now expected at 1:16pm.
Cancelled flights
Earlier today, the following flights were cancelled:
- EasyJet flight U24276 to Naples, originally scheduled for 8:45am.
- Virgin Atlantic flight VS139 to Orlando, originally scheduled for 9:15am.
- British Airways flight BA1361 to London, originally scheduled for 10:35am.
Passengers are advised to monitor their flight status closely. The airport has also reminded travellers of strict hand luggage rules, including the 100ml liquid limit. In July, nearly 100 items were confiscated at Terminal 2 security in a single morning, including yoghurt pots, a leg massager, and a gun-shaped whiskey decanter. Children's squishy toys, which may contain unmarked liquids, could also be confiscated, potentially causing delays.
