Holidaymakers heading to Liverpool John Lennon Airport should be aware of the latest guidelines, including the 100ml liquid rule which still applies. However, the airport states that liquids in containers of 100ml or less can remain in hand luggage without needing a clear plastic bag.
Liquid rules and what counts
The airport clarifies that the term "liquids" includes gels, aerosols (e.g., anti-perspirant, deodorants), pastes (toothpaste, hair paste), canned goods in sauces (e.g., baked beans, tuna in brine), perfume, foundation, make-up (including mascara), powders, e-cigarette cartridges, and lighters (only one permitted per person). Large electronic devices can stay in hand luggage, saving time at security.
Check-in times
The airport recommends arriving at least two hours before the scheduled departure time. Passengers are responsible for allowing sufficient time to reach the departure gate by the published boarding time.
Drop-offs and parking
Drop-off fees remain unchanged: £6 for 10 minutes in the express area. The Drop-off 2 zone, a seven-minute walk from the terminal, is free for up to 20 minutes. The airport also offers long and short stay parking, and recently added dedicated parking bays for Bolt shared scooters and e-bikes.
Family travel
Fast Track Family car parking is available, with wider spaces and four complimentary Fast Track Security tickets to skip queues.
