The charming British village of Grasmere has been named the UK's number one trending summer destination for 2026, according to TripAdvisor. Located in Cumbria, near the Scottish border, this enchanting spot is renowned for its stunning scenery and historic cottages, including the former home of poet William Wordsworth.

TripAdvisor revealed the top UK destinations by analyzing searches on the site between February and April 2026 for travel between June and August. The rankings were based on year-on-year growth in search interest.
Dove Cottage and Wordsworth
Visitors can explore Dove Cottage, once home to William Wordsworth, who described it as "the loveliest spot that man hath ever found." The cottage is open to tourists and features a beautiful garden.
Culinary Highlights
Grasmere offers unique food experiences, such as the Grasmere Gingerbread Shop, which sells a chewy spiced biscuit invented in 1854. This half-biscuit, half-cake treat is now rare and a must-try for visitors.
The village also boasts popular pubs like Royal Oak and Traveller's Rest Grasmere, as well as the Michelin-starred restaurant Forest Side.
