Coronation Street Cancelled This Week Due to World Cup Coverage
Corrie Cancelled This Week for World Cup Football

Coronation Street and Emmerdale have been cancelled tonight as ITV broadcasts the FIFA World Cup 2026. England face Croatia in their opening game, with coverage starting at 8pm live from the Dallas Stadium in Texas and kick-off at 9pm on ITV1.

Soap Schedule Disrupted

This cancellation affects both soaps, which have faced a disjointed schedule over the past two weeks due to football. Wednesday and Thursday also see no episodes, with Switzerland vs Bosnia airing at 8pm on Thursday from the Los Angeles Stadium in Inglewood.

Earlier this week, both soaps aired one-hour episodes instead of the usual half-hour to compensate for missing time. Viewers can expect a return to normal on Friday.
