Chessington World of Adventures was forced to close its doors on Monday following a water outage in the local area. The theme park announced the closure on its website, stating that the outage was affecting its operations.

All tickets booked for the day will be automatically revalidated under the park's Return Promise and can be used on a future date. The closure notice read: “All tickets booked for today will be automatically revalidated under our Return Promise and can be used on a future date. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.”
Cause and Repairs
Thames Water confirmed that a burst water main was impacting water services in the KT9 area. The utility company said a specialist team had located the burst and was working to carry out repairs.
Impact During Busy Period
The closure comes in the middle of the school summer holidays, a typically busy time for the attraction. According to Queue Times, the park was expected to reach “packed” at 77% capacity on Monday.
Weather Context
The closure also precedes what is set to be another warm week for the south east of England, with temperatures expected to hit 35C in London and parts of Kent seeing highs above 30C. The Met Office is considering issuing a rare red health alert as temperatures continue to climb.
