Reality television personality Liberty Poole has found herself in an unexpected and chaotic situation after her parked car slid away during Storm Goretti, crashing into her neighbour's garden.
The Chaotic Storm Mishap
The Love Island star had only just returned to the UK from a six-week holiday, which included trips to Mexico and Dubai. Unaware of the severe weather conditions battering the country, she arrived home shortly before the incident occurred in the early hours of the morning.
Liberty revealed the entire blunder in a now-viral TikTok video, where she explained that a friend had warned her to move her car due to her sloped driveway. Heeding the advice, she attempted to reverse her Fiat 500 off the drive but quickly lost control on the icy surface.
"I Heard a Bang": The Moment of Impact
Fearing the vehicle would go "anywhere," Poole decided to leave the car halfway up the driveway with the handbrake firmly engaged. She then went inside to cook her dinner, believing the car was secure.
"I'm minding my own business, cooking my dinner – bang, bang – what the hell?" she recounted in the video. Upon looking out of her window, she was met with the startling sight of her empty driveway. Her car had slid all the way down, crossed the road, and come to rest diagonally in her neighbour's bush.
She later shared photographic evidence on social media, showing tyre tracks through the snow tracing the car's path from her property to the opposite side of the road.
Advice from a Shaken Star
Speaking about the incident to Sky News, Liberty, who lives in a rural area, provided a warning to others. "I guess my advice would be if you do have a car on a steep drive, make sure you leave it in first gear," she stated, reflecting on the lesson learned from the expensive mishap.
Despite the shock and the damage, the TV star managed to see a silver lining. She mentioned that a food delivery driver arrived just before conditions worsened, and she gave him a "massive tip" for braving the weather.
