Carol Kirkwood delivered her last BBC weather forecast on Wednesday (1 April), marking the end of a 28-year career at the broadcaster. The 63-year-old Scottish presenter joined the BBC Weather Centre in 1998 and became BBC Breakfast's main weather presenter in 2010.
Announcing her departure in January, Kirkwood said she had 'loved every minute' of her time at the organisation and that the decision to leave was not an 'easy one' to make. After her final forecast, hosts Sally Nugent and Jon Kay thanked Kirkwood for being 'perfect'.
Kirkwood's warm and professional style made her a beloved figure among viewers. Her departure leaves a notable gap in the BBC Breakfast team, where she had been a regular presence for over a decade.
