Merseyside calm weekend after storms, frost looms

Merseyside is set for a calmer weekend after the recent storms, but colder conditions could return by next week, according to the Met Office.

Following the disruption caused by Storm Austen and Storm Boelo in recent weeks, drier and milder weather is expected for Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday and Sunday Outlook

On Saturday morning, the Met Office predicts temperatures of around 9°C with some light rain. Drier conditions are expected as the day continues, with temperatures reaching 11°C and no wet spells likely.

Sunday is expected to bring a continuation of the cold November weather, with a possible glimpse of sunshine later in the day. By Monday morning, fog and frost are likely across Merseyside.

Potential Colder Conditions Next Week

While the poor weather has eased since last week, it could return. The Met Office said: "Towards the end of next week we may start to see some colder conditions spread from the north to much of, if not all of the UK, but while the nature of this colder outbreak is very uncertain, it could bring some wintry showers to the northern UK briefly, with the south trending drier once again."

For Saturday, the forecast states: "Although it will be cloudy with some light rain lingering during the morning, a drier afternoon is expected with the odd bright spell particularly in the south. Maximum temperature 11 °C."

For Sunday: "Sunny spells throughout Sunday but still rather chilly. Frost and fog for some on Monday morning, then a sunny autumn day. Sunny for most of Tuesday, with rain arriving later."
