A Turkish Airlines flight en route from Istanbul to Toronto was forced to divert to Manchester Airport on July 28. The aircraft, flight THY1GJ, touched down at around 7:30pm after circling over the North Sea, according to flight data. Several fire engines were spotted heading toward the plane after it landed.

A spokesperson for Manchester Airport confirmed the aircraft landed safely and experienced a technical issue that has since been resolved. Turkish Airlines has been contacted for further details.
