M4 blocked by sheep for second time in three days

Sheep blocked the M4 near Cardiff on Tuesday morning, the second such incident in three days. All traffic was held as the animals were moved from the carriageway.

Incident details

The sheep were in the road on the M4 in the Cardiff area, affecting traffic in both directions from Junction 33 A4232 Cardiff west and services to Junction 34 A4119 Miskin, Vale of Glamorgan. The incident began at around 11.34am and all traffic was released by 11.56am.

Previous incident

On Sunday, police attended an incident on the M4 between junction 35 Pencoed and junction 36 Sarn, where there was "a high number of sheep on both carriageways."
