Jet2 flight diverts to Frankfurt after medical incident

Jet2 flight LS1413, travelling from London Stansted to Burgas in Bulgaria, was diverted to Frankfurt, Germany, on Monday afternoon (September 14) following a medical incident on board, the airline confirmed.

The Airbus A321 landed at Frankfurt Airport at 5.43pm local time. While on the ground, the aircraft refuelled before continuing to its intended destination. It eventually touched down at Burgas at 10.27pm local time (8.27pm BST), around one hour and 45 minutes after its scheduled arrival time of 8.40pm local time.

Airline statement on disruption

On its website, Jet2 said: "Due to a medical incident on board, we wanted to let you know that flight LS1413 London Stansted to Bourgas will need to make a fuel stop in Frankfurt."

The statement continued: "Once the plane has refuelled, it will then continue to Bourgas Airport. This is an unscheduled change, so we're doing everything we can to minimise any disruption to your onward journey."

Passenger impact

The airline added: "Thanks in advance for your understanding and patience during this time - we'll have you on your way as quickly as we can."
