The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Nintendo Switch 2 console is sold out at Nintendo but is still available to pre-order at GAME, priced at £449.99. The console launches on October 29 and is part of the franchise's 40th anniversary celebrations, which also include a remake of Ocarina of Time, new amiibo figurines, concerts and themed merchandise.
Pre-order details and availability
Following a period when the console was exclusively on sale in North America, UK pre-orders have opened. While Nintendo has sold out, GAME continues to offer the item. The console features a black and gold dock with a Triforce emblem on the front, additional Zelda-themed patterns on the rear and interior, and green and gold Joy-Con 2 controllers with special straps.
The console allows users to play new games such as The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on Nintendo Switch 2, with a larger 1080p screen and the option to connect to a TV. GAME notes that some Nintendo Switch games may not be supported or fully compatible with the Switch 2, and 4K resolution via TV requires compatible television and game.
Other Zelda and Switch 2 options
Zelda games are also available at Argos, including Tears of the Kingdom (£64.99) and Breath of the Wild (£64.99). Other Switch 2 pre-orders include EA SPORTS FC 27 - Nintendo Switch 2 at Very with £5 off, now £54.99 (usually £59.99), and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 - Nintendo Switch 2 at Amazon for £69.99, releasing October 23.
