Six people were rushed to hospital after a party boat crashed into a pylon on the Gold Coast in Australia. The boat was carrying 21 people in their twenties and thirties when it hit the pylon at Moondarewa Spit at Main Beach at about 7pm on Saturday, September 19.
Injuries and Hospital Transfers
Paramedics assessed eight people on board, and six were taken to hospital. Two women in their 20s were also treated by paramedics, one of them after falling off the boat. Those injured have been confirmed to be in a stable condition.
A man in his 20s with facial injuries was taken in a stable condition to Gold Coast University Hospital. A woman in her 20s with a head injury was also taken there in a stable condition. Another woman in her 20s with shoulder and neck pain, and a woman in her 20s with an arm injury, were also taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
Stable Condition Confirmed
A man in his 30s with neck pain and a woman in her 20s with a shoulder injury were taken in a stable condition to Gold Coast Robina Hospital. Brisbane Times reports that no one else on board the boat was injured in the crash.
A police spokesperson said the injuries were understood to be minor, such as nose bleeds and concussions.
