Netflix is delivering a spectacular start to 2026 for its UK subscribers, securing a major cinematic coup alongside the return of one of its flagship series. The streaming giant has announced that every single film in the James Bond franchise will become available for the first time this January, following a landmark licensing agreement with Amazon MGM Studios.
A Blockbuster Month for Streaming
This unprecedented addition of the entire 007 catalogue represents a massive victory for Netflix and its users, effectively countering the recent removal of other significant titles. The deal encompasses all 25 official Eon Productions Bond movies, from Dr. No right through to No Time to Die, and even includes the non-Eon film Never Say Never Again.
But the spy franchise isn't the only headline act. Netflix is also premiering the first volume of Bridgerton's hotly anticipated fourth season on 29 January. The new season will feature Luke Thompson and Yerin Ha in the lead roles, continuing the streamer's most successful original drama.
Diverse New Content Across Genres
January's roster is packed with fresh original and licensed content designed to appeal to a wide audience. Subscribers can look forward to a new crime thriller from director Joe Carnahan, starring real-life best friends Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. In a breathtaking live event, rock climbing legend Alex Honnold will attempt to free climb Taipei 101, one of the world's tallest skyscrapers, in a special broadcast airing overnight for UK viewers.
The original film slate includes People We Meet on Vacation (9 January), The Rip (16 January), and The Big Fake (23 January). Television offerings are equally robust, with new seasons of Love is Blind: Germany (8 January), Alpha Males (9 January), and Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials (15 January).
Licensed Movies and TV Shows Bolster the Library
Beyond 007, the licensed movie selection for January 2026 is particularly strong. Notable arrivals include Dune (2021), Ford v Ferrari, Priscilla, and the Oscar-winning 12 Years A Slave, all landing on 1 January. Later in the month, subscribers can also stream Bob Marley: One Love (12 January) and Licorice Pizza (16 January).
The television library receives a significant boost with multiple complete series. All seven seasons of The Good Doctor arrive on 1 January, along with five seasons of Falling Skies. Crime drama fans can binge Prodigal Son (9 January) and Veronica Mars (14 January), while Rizzoli & Isles lands on 20 January.
With this powerful combination of a legendary film franchise, returning favourite series, and a diverse array of new films and documentaries, Netflix has firmly positioned January 2026 as a month of must-watch entertainment for its UK audience.
