LA Comedian's Dating App Match Exposed as Married Man After Vow Renewal Discovery
Dating app match exposed as married after vow renewal find

An American comedian has shared a cautionary tale from the modern dating world after a promising match on a dating app turned out to be a married man who had just renewed his wedding vows.

The 'Gorgeous' Match That Sparked Suspicion

Los Angeles-based comic Jasmine Parniani recounted the story in a viral video, explaining how she matched with a man she described as gorgeous, with a six-pack, a beautiful smile, and a love of cooking. The man, who was from England, seemed an ideal match, and the pair quickly exchanged numbers and began texting.

However, her initial excitement turned to doubt upon a closer inspection of his profile pictures. Jasmine spotted a wedding ring on his finger in one of the photos. A more vigilant scan revealed the ring was visible in several images. Intrigued rather than immediately deterred, she decided to investigate.

The Digital Detective Work Unearths a Vow Renewal

Armed with the 'little titbits and facts' the man had already shared about himself, Jasmine embarked on some online sleuthing. She managed to find his full name via his employer's company director listing and typed it into Google.

The top result was a damning discovery: a wedding registry on The Knot website for a vow renewal that had taken place just the previous week. Digging deeper, she found his wife's LinkedIn profile, which indicated she had a job requiring long periods away from home.

"I'm like, this makes sense, this dirty dog!" Jasmine said. "He's just renewed his vows last week and he's already out in the streets!"

Confrontation and Unanswered Questions

After finding the wife on Instagram and noting she didn't follow her husband back, Jasmine consulted friends. They advised giving the man a chance to explain before alerting his spouse.

On a FaceTime call, he immediately stated he was 'going through a divorce' that was not yet finalised. This, however, did not explain the recent vow renewal ceremony, leaving Jasmine sceptical about his story's truthfulness.

The saga concluded with a stark warning from the comedian. Reflecting on how easily she found a short film he was in from 2016, she urged viewers: "You've gotta be careful with how much information you're giving to strangers on the internet - because there's people like me who love to find out information for fun!"

A Viral Warning Resonates With Many

Jasmine's videos amassed over 1.4 million combined views, with the comment section revealing a shocking number of people had similar experiences. Many shared stories of finding wedding or baby registries for men they were dating.

Reactions to the man's 'divorce' explanation were largely disbelieving. "Why would you get a renewal ONE WEEK ago while you are getting divorced?" one commenter questioned. Another simply advised: "Tell the wife... I wouldn't trust him."

A prevalent theme was that such deep-dive research is now a necessity for personal safety in dating. "We research for personal safety," one woman wrote, while another declared, "ALWAYS DO A BACKGROUND CHECK, LADIES." Others highlighted the surprising ease of the process, with one noting: "First name, occupation, and current city in Google usually always does the trick."
