OneOdio Fusion A70 Gen 2 review: budget headphones with big features

The OneOdio Fusion A70 Gen 2 headphones combine everyday wireless listening with more serious audio duties, all for under £50. Priced at £49.99 on the OneOdio website, they offer Bluetooth 6.0 and LDAC support, plus wired connections via supplied 3.5mm and 6.35mm cables.

Design and features

The over-ear headphones are lightweight with a plastic construction that reveals their budget price. Retro-inspired styling, including detailing on the earcups, gives them more character than many other budget options. A carrying bag is included.

The main upgrade over the original A70 is inside. The Gen 2 uses 40mm drivers and supports LDAC with Hi-Res Audio and Hi-Res Wireless Audio certification. Bluetooth 6.0 allows wireless connection to up to two devices.

Sound and battery

Out of the box, the headphones sound lively with plenty of bass. The OneOdio companion app now provides EQ controls for adjusting the sound. For more demanding listening, the wired option is useful, connecting directly to phones, computers, mixers, amplifiers and DJ equipment without an adapter. The 90-degree swivelling earcups are designed for monitoring and DJ use.

Battery life is a strong point, with 72 hours of wireless playback.

Compromises and verdict

There are some compromises at this price. The biggest is the lack of active noise cancellation, though with over-the-ear headphones this may not be noticeable. Long-term durability is also a potential concern given the lightweight construction.

Despite this, the Fusion A70 Gen 2 offers plenty of functionality for the money. The combination of sound, battery life and wired/wireless versatility makes it a decent choice for music fans, travellers and budding DJs on a budget.

Reviewers note: "It's not a luxury headset, but it doesn’t pretend to be. Instead, it offers solid comfort, good sound quality, reliable wireless range, and the bonus of wired connectivity for musicians and creators." Another adds: "Whether you are a bedroom DJ, a daily commuter, or a casual listener, these headphones deliver exceptional overall value."
